Santizo Healthcare Solutions Inc. (https://www.santizohealthcare.ca/) is a Toronto-based chiropractic clinic. We provide our clients with a multidisciplinary approach to caring for their bodies including spinal decompression therapy, chiropractic treatment, laser therapy, etc. we are now hiring an Administrative Assistant to join our team. The scope of the position requires proficient skills related to customer service, communication, confidentiality, computer technology, financial statements and billing. This is a challenging position where you are expected to multitask and prioritize, and where you can utilize your organizational, communication, and time management skills.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·       Answer, screen and forward telephone calls to the appropriate physician in a timely manner; reply to emails efficiently and/or take messages/redirect emails as necessary

·       Greet, screen and register patients, answer patients’ queries, and triage patients to the appropriate physician based on patient needs and therapist availability

·       Update and maintain patients’ health records; interview patients, assist patients with initial paperwork, prepare consent forms and enter all patient information accurately into database

·       Schedule and coordinate appointments; maintain written and electronic calendar/schedules

·       Provide information about the clinic, the services offered, fees, payment modes, insurance coverage, waiting list, office hours and schedules, etc.

·       Liaise between the patient and the insurance company; perform direct billing submissions accurately to various insurance companies, and answer questions from insurance companies

·       Assist in budget preparation, monitor and submit expenses, and generate monthly expense reports based on clinic policies

·       Provide basic office management and organization, and maintain an updated inventory or supplies and equipment

·       Assist with planning, communicating and executing wellness programs for the clinic

·       Update website and create marketing flyers when necessary

·       Support any additional administrative needs for physicians by working both onsite and remotely

Requirements:

 

Required language: English

 

Required education: Successful completion of secondary education

 

Required experience:

 

·       Minimum 1-year experience as a medical administrative assistant or working in a clinic/health environment with exposure to clinical/ chiropractic terminology

·       Prior experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues is required

·       Experience in managing financial records

 

 

Other requirements:

 

·       Must be willing to work flexible hours and on weekends

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

·       Good knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare operations; knowledge of or experience with chiropractic care and treatment would be a strong asset

·       Knowledge of or experience with medical insurance procedures

·       Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to and work well with a diverse group of individuals; ability to effectively convey factual information and detailed explanations

·       Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and graphic and desktop publishing software

·       Experience using an EMR/electronic medical record system, or other similar online patient database would be an asset

·       Superior time management, organizational and self-planning skills displaying flexibility by adjusting work schedules according to changing priorities, meeting demanding deadlines and producing high quality work

·       Discretion and initiative when dealing with confidential information and responding to inquiries

·       Meticulous attention to details

 

 

Job Type: full-time (35-45 hours/week), permanent

 

Salary: $25/ hour

 

Location: Toronto, ON
