Iron Bowl Japanese Fusion is looking for full time sushi cooks.

Location: 1502 Broadway Street, Suite 1150, Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 0G1

Working hours : 30~40 hours per week, may have to work overtime if needed

Wage : $14.85~$20.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job type : Full-time, Permanent

Positions available : 2

Benefit: 4% of vacation pay (depending on previous experience and training, salaries may vary)

Job Description

Responsibilities include

-Prepare all types of sushi, including sashimi

-Create a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish (salmon, tuna, unagi, saba, hamachi, shrimp, etc.)

-Cook the exact number of items ordered by each customers, working on several different orders simultaneously

-Develop and improve menu & sauces

-Set up station according to restaurant guidelines

-Check coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity and quality of ingredients

-Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

-Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

-Assist in the training of new staffs

-Maintain a clean and organized work station

-Complete cleaning duties at the end of your shift


Qualifications/Summary of Experience

-Strong attention to detail is essential 

-Minimum 1-3 years of Commercial cooking experience 

-Completion of secondary school is required

-Quality conscious 

-Experience in a fast-paced environment

-Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently

-Able to work in a team and independently, with integrity and creativity

-Constant standing
-Lifting up to 25lb
-Bending and reaching with a moderate amount of manual dexterity
