Job Description:

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods in accordance with standards and in a timely manner
• Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work areas
• Manage kitchen operations
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances

Requirements:
- Education: Completion of high school is required
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. In the event that the candidate does not have 3 years of experience a then a post-secondary certificate is required
- Knowledge of Greek cuisine is an asset
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Standing for extended periods, Physically demanding, Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Work under pressure

Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 hourly, 40-44 Hours per week

Important Information:
Flexibility in schedule is required. Work schedule includes weekends and holidays. Shifts are usually Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday to Saturday from 12:00 PM to 9: 00 PM with 1 or 2 days off on a rotational basis. Overtime may be required. Schedule may vary according to the business’ needs.
