Business Information: Hair Affair Salon & Body Studio is located in Dickinsfield. We have been serving Wood Buffalo for over 30 years. Hair Affair is one of the largest full-service salon in Fort McMurray offering a variety of hairstyling services such as consultations, cuts, colouring, styling, lightening services etc. The salon is open 7 days a week.

Job Description:



· Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair

· Suggest hair style compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences

· Clean and style wigs and hair pieces

· Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair

· Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair

· Apply hair extensions

· Book appointments

· Maintain and order supplies

· Shampoo and rinse customer’s hair

· Perform occasionally receptionist’s duties

Job Description

Requirements:



-Education: Some secondary school education is required.

-Experience: Completion of a two-or three-year hairstyling apprenticeship program or completion of a college or other program in hairstyling combined with on-the-job training is required to become certified. *Several years of experience may replace formal education and training*

-Trade certification for hairstylists is required.

Hair Colouring Techniques: bleach, dyes/tints, frosting, streaking/highlights

Hair Styling Techniques: blow drying, hair braiding, iron waving/curling, permanents, extensions, relaxing, spiking, roller setting

-Work site environment: Fast-pace environment

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Manual dexterity, Combination of sitting, standing walking, Standing for extended periods.

-Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication, Reliability, Flexibility, Team player, Effective interpersonal skills, Client focus, Dependability, Judgement, Ability to multitask

-Language: English is required.



Salary: $18.71 to $20.71 hourly, 30 – 40 hours per week.

Important Information:

The work schedule will consist of 5 days per week on a rotational basis. The working hours will be set anywhere in the following schedules:



Tuesday and Wednesday: 9 am to 7 pm

Thursday and Friday: 9 am to 9 pm

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday: 9 am to 5 pm



The chosen candidates will usually work 6-10 hours per day, Flexibility on schedule and weekend work is required. Overtime may be required depending on the business needs.
