Job Description
We Rakkar Transport Ltd., transportation company based in Surrey, BC are currently hiring Long-Haul Truck Drivers.

Salary: $27.00 Hourly for 40-60 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible

Credentials (certificates, licences): Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Experience: Experience an asset. On job training will be provided

Employment Requirements
Completion of Secondary school is required.
Class 1 or A Driver’s License and Air brake endorsement are required.
No experience is necessary. On the job training will be provide
Proficiency to communicate in basic English.
Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel internationally, Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel overnight
Job Duties
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Load and unload goods, Trapping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Receive and relay information to central dispatch, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Benefits
As per BC Employment standards 10 days of paid vacation annually or 4% vacation pay of the gross salary
As per Canada labour code for highway drivers, overtime rate of 1.5 times the regular is applicable after 60 hours per week.
