About the Position:
Tondou Ramen, a traditional Okinawa based restaurant is looking for someone to join us as a cook. We are specialized in Okinawa ramen (Japanese noodles soups) and other Okinawa dishes, and we need someone who has 2-3 years of experience in creating ramen from soup stock and in preparing other Japanese dishes, preferably in Okinawa food.
Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Prepare variety of Okinawa style ramen soup stocks, noodles, and toppings;
· Cook and prepare appetizers, and other Okinawa style dishes such as gyoza, tofuyo, chicken wings, takoyaki, and others;
· Assist head chef for creating new menus;
· Train and oversee kitchen staff’s performance;
· Monitor and control inventories, call distributors and manufacturers, and purchase ingredients;
· Manage other employee’s schedule;
· Organize special events according to the holiday seasons;
· Train new staff in kitchen;
· Maintain clean environment;
· Interview and recruit new staff members; and
· Support restaurant manager for pitching ideas for promotion, cost control, and restaurant concept.
Wage: $14.25
Hours: Full-time Permanent position – 40 hrs per week

Edu credentials: College or equivalent experience
Language: English must. Knowledge of Japanese is an asset
Experience: 2-3 yrs as a cook in Japanese restaurant
