Job Description

Job duties:

- Prepare, cook, and present hot and cold appetizers and dishes such as Japanese style salad, miso soup, and Tataki with minimal supervision;

- Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style deep fried dishes such as Ikapiri, Karaage, and Korokke with minimal supervision;

- Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style grill dishes such as grilled fish and Japanese style skewer with minimal supervision;

- Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style noodle dishes with minimal supervision;

- Prepare and present Sushi and other rice dishes with minimal supervision;

- Prepare Dashi (Japanese stock);

- Suggest/plan new menus and determine size of food portions and presentation of food;

- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;

- Estimate food requirements and costs;

- Order supplies and equipment;

- Train new staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;

- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers in preparation, cooking and handling of food;

- Schedule staff;

- Clean and Inspect kitchen and work areas
