Qualifications

- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;

- Completion of secondary (high) school is required;

- 2 years to less than 3 years of related work experience in a restaurant is required;

- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is an asset.

Job duties

- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of server who prepare, portion and serve food;

- Maintain inventory, estimate and order beverages and supplies required;

- Establish work schedules and procedures of servers;

- Close a cash register, check sales and calculate tips;

- Check popular dishes and share the results with kitchen staff;

- Train newly hired servers in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures;

- Evaluate each server with the manager, identify training needs, train and direct staff;

- Ensure that food service meet quality control standards;

- Recruit and hire servers, together with the manager;

- Keep and manage the cleanliness of working area and service area; and

- Address and solve the customer complaints, concerns and other issues that arise.
