Taro’s Fish Inc. at 800 Sheppard Ave. East, Toronto Ontario is looking for threeFishmonger(s)” for a salary of; $3,000.00 per month based on 40.0 hours per week.

 

Qualifications;

·         Must have one to two year of experience in working with fresh fish

·         Must have knowledge and skills of preparing sashimi

·         Must be able to work weekends and overtime as assigned

·         Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment

·         Completion of secondary (high) school is preferred

·         Basic oral English is required

Job Description

  • De-scaling, removing bones, gutting and cleaning the fish and cutting into smaller pieces
  • Dressing seafood products
  • Weighs, packages and labels fish and seafood
  • Slicing the fish for sashimi orders for in-store customers
  • Prepare sashimi orders for groups, parties, banquets and other catering functions
  • Prepare fresh fish and seafood orders for various restaurant customers that require either daily or weekly delivery
  • Displays and stores food in the appropriate temperature conditions as per Health standards
  • Ensure that the fish and seafood are stored properly at all times
  • Clean work station thoroughly and ensure the counter is clean and safe for food preparation
  • Maintain an inventory record of various types of fresh fish and seafood and discuss with management what types of fish are required for re-stocking our store supplies
  • Train new fishmongers and supervise them in their relevant duties of preparation and handling of food, when required
