- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required;

- Completion of secondary (high) school is required;

- 3 years to less than 5 years of work experience as a cook or a chef in a restaurant is required

- Experience and/or knowledge in cooking Japanese Vegetarian/Gluten-free/Vegan food is an asset

Job Description

Job duties:

- Create new recipes;

- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.

- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food;

- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff;

- Prepare and cook food on a regular basis;

- Prepare and cook Starters such as Crispy Dill Polenta Croquettes, Stuffed Miso Mushrooms, 7 Layer Dip, and Sweet Potato Nest;

- Prepare and present Salads such as Kale Crunch Caesar, Alkaline, Wakame Salad, and Warm Lentil Salad;

- Prepare and cook Burgers and Wraps such as Coconut Bacon Avocado Burger, Mushroom Melt Burger, and Burdock Burrito;

- Prepare and present Bowls such as Bibimbap Bowl, Three Sisters Bowl, and Japanese Curry Plate;

- Prepare Smoothies such as Chocoholic, Berry Fusion and Matcha Move; 

- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances;

- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory;

- Analyze operating costs and other data;

- Requisition food and kitchen supplies;
