Job Duties:

Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products

Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators or other metal workers

Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials

Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools

Clean machines and immediate work areas

Read and interpret work orders

Requirements

Education: Some secondary education is required.

Experience: Experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided

Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods.

Work Site Environment: Noisy

Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Language: English is required.

Salary: $19.50 hourly, 44 – 47 hours per week

Important Information: Work schedule is from Monday to Thursdays, from 7:00 am to 4:40 pm. and on Fridays from 7:00 am to 3:15 pm. Work on weekends and overtime may be required.
