Punch Press Operator - metal fabrication NOC 9416

Wesgar Inc. is a supplier of precision sheet metal components and value-added services to customers throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

We are looking for enthusiastic & reliable individuals to join our production team.

Job title: Punch Press Operator

Location: 1634 Kebet Way, Port Coquitlam BC, V3C 5W9

Status: Permanent Full Time

Shift: Must be willing to work day, afternoon or graveyard

Hourly rate: $18-$25. Wages are based on demonstrable skill, output & problem-solving ability.

Duties:

  • Set up and operate CNC punching or CNC turret punch presses
  • Follow all departmental procedures
  • Review and maintain the condition of tooling on a regular basis, and recommending replacement or upgrades if needed
  • Work with production management teams to develop manufacturing methods or work instructions for new products

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC punch press or CNC turret punch press
  • Previous work experience with FinnPower & Trumpfs punching machines will be an asset
  • Must be able to demonstrate a good understand of punching theory, tool selection criteria, metal characteristics, safety standards, and quality control
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to lift upto 50lbs
