Job Summary
The Greenhouse Farm Worker is responsible for assisting with daily greenhouse operations, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and maintaining crops. The position supports efficient crop production while following workplace safety, hygiene, and agricultural standards in Canada.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Plant, transplant, cultivate, and care for greenhouse crops such as mushrooms, vegetables, or plants
• Water plants and operate irrigation, misting, and climate control systems
• Monitor plant growth and report signs of disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies
• Harvest crops by hand and assist with grading, sorting, weighing, and packaging produce
• Clean and sanitize greenhouse areas, tools, containers, and equipment
• Assist with soil or growing medium preparation, including mixing and handling substrates
• Apply fertilizers and other crop treatments under supervision and according to safety guidelines
• Maintain records of daily work activities, crop yields, and environmental conditions
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including biosecurity and hygiene standards
• Perform other general farm and greenhouse duties as required
