Job Details Captains Oven Pizza (Downtown) is looking for 2 full-time, permanent (40 hr) Kitchen Helper to join our team at the West Pender location.

Situated right in the heart of the action, we are looking for a dedicated, high-energy Kitchen Helper who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to support our culinary team. At Captains Oven, we don’t just make pizza; we provide a world-class experience, and we need your support to deliver that mission.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist the cooking team by accurately washing, peeling, slicing, and trimming vegetables and meats using knives and electric appliances to ensure efficient prep for high-volume shifts.
• Maintain a pristine kitchen environment by removing trash, cleaning garbage containers, and sanitizing cooking surfaces to meet strict health and safety standards.
• Manage inventory organization by receiving deliveries, unpacking supplies, and storing items in fridges and pantries according to "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) rotation methods.
• Support the takeout and delivery operations by folding pizza boxes and preparing packaging materials to keep up with the rapid pace of downtown orders.
• Keep the facility spotless by sweeping and mopping floors, ensuring the workspace is safe and slip-free for the entire kitchen crew.
• Perform other essential support duties as directed by the Cook or Store Supervisor to ensure smooth operations during peak "World Cup" rush hours.

Job Description Requirements
• No previous experience required; on-the-job training will be provided. (Previous kitchen experience is considered an asset).
• Secondary school education is preferred.
• Physically capable of handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods in a busy kitchen.
• Ability to work at a "World Cup" pace—fast, efficient, and reliable under pressure.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including late nights and weekends, to accommodate the busy downtown dining scene.
Remuneration & Perks

• $19.00 CAD per hour.
