Job Details Position: Dental Laboratory Assistant

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Laboratory Assistant to work as a dedicated assistant in our Ceramics Department. The successful candidate will support the Dental Ceramist with case preparation, model and material preparation, organizing laboratory work, finishing, polishing, and quality-control procedures under supervision. This position supports the efficient and timely production of dental restorations and requires accuracy, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced dental laboratory.

Work assignment: Dedicated assistant in the Ceramics Department

Supervisor: Dental Ceramist

Wage: $33.00 to $38.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 to 40 hours per Week
Benefit : Extended Medical Plan

Job duties:
1. Prepare and organize dental cases, work orders, and prescriptions, and maintain accurate case records and tracking documentation to support each stage of the ceramic restoration fabrication process.
2. Mix, prepare, and pour dental stone, plaster, and investment materials to produce accurate working models and dies.
3. Trim, articulate, and label study models and casts according to case specifications and laboratory standards.
4. Prepare porcelain, ceramic powders, and layering materials for crown, bridge, and veneer fabrication in accordance with laboratory protocols.
5. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as porcelain furnaces, sandblasters, steam cleaners, and polishing units in support of the ceramic production workflow.
6. Perform initial trimming, polishing, and finishing of ceramic restorations prior to final quality inspection.
7. Record and organize shade-matching references, photographs, and esthetic notes to support accurate color and shade reproduction, and maintain, clean, and organize instruments, materials, and shade guides to support daily laboratory operations.
8. Monitor inventory of ceramic materials and supplies, notify the appropriate supervisor when reordering is required, and manage complex case preparation and materials handling within the ceramic restoration workflow with reduced supervision.
