Company Profile: The Village Idiot is one of Revelstoke’s top restaurants featuring a family friendly atmosphere serving a diverse menu to satisfy most palates and dietary needs. The menu features made to order pizzas, burgers, seasonal feature menus and signature cocktails. In addition to their physical location on MacKenzie Avenue in Revelstoke, The Village Idiot operates a satellite location for delivery orders and large-scale prep for the restaurant.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
• Manage kitchen operations and line flow as second-in-command, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly.
• Prepare and cook complete meals, signature pub items, and allergy-safe dishes to our exact standards.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen workers to keep the team unified and efficient.
• Train staff in food preparation, plating, and safe equipment use to maintain high quality and consistency across all shifts.
• Track daily inventory, estimate costs, and order food supplies to keep the kitchen properly stocked while managing waste.
• Maintain cleanliness of workplace, equipment and self to uphold Food Safe standards
• Maintain a professional demeanor in a high stress environment

Employment Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school required.
• Completion of trade certificate, formal culinary education or equivalent experience is required.
• At least two years’ experience in a high volume commercial kitchen
• Positive attitude and team player and a demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
