Company Description: World Food Equipment Inc. supplies and installs commercial refrigeration systems for restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, warehouses, and other commercial facilities throughout Ontario. We are seeking reliable Carpenter Helper to assist our installation team with site preparation, carpentry support, and finishing work required during commercial refrigeration installations.
Job Requirements:
Languages: English
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma is required. Secondary school completion is considered an asset.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in construction, carpentry, or as a carpenter helper is required. Job-specific training related to the company’s commercial carpentry procedures will be provided.
Tasks/ Job Duties:
• Assist in constructing, modifying, and finishing wall openings, supports, and wooden structures required for the installation of commercial refrigeration systems and walk-in coolers
• Assist in building and modifying wooden frames, bases, enclosures, shelving, and support structures required for refrigeration equipment;
• Install insulation panels, trim, mouldings, and finishing materials around refrigeration units;
• Measure, cut, and prepare wood, plywood, laminate panels, framing materials, and other construction materials;
• Load, unload and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites;
• Operate hand tools and power tools under the supervision of carpenter;
• Assist with site preparation, demolition, cleanup, and material disposal;
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with occupational health and safety requirements;
• Perform other construction and installation support duties as assigned.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Attention to detail
Working setting: Travel to various customer job sites throughout Ontario is required
Work site environment: Noisy, dusty, and cold/refrigerated environments
Weight handling: Able to lift heavy materials and equipment required.
Tools: Ability to safely use hand and power tools
