Job Description:



Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements

Select type of insulation required

Instruct apprentices

Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools

Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs

Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials

Supervise other workers

Brush waterproofing cement or other material over insulating materials

Fabricate and apply removable insulation pads and covers

Estimate costs and materials

Job Description Requirements

- Education: Completion of secondary education is required

- Experience: a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in insulating OR trade certification is required.

- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Manual dexterity

- Personal Suitability: Team player, Flexibility, Reliability

- Language: English is required

- Valid class 5 driver’s license is an asset

- Ability to supervise up to 4 workers.

- Work site environment: Noisy, Odours, Dusty, Hot, Wet/damp, At heights, Cold/refrigerated, Confined spaces, Dangerous, Outdoors



Salary: $35.20 – 37.20 hourly, 40 – 50 hours per week

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30pm. Work on weekends and overtime will be required depending on the business needs.
