Job Overview:
We are searching for a reliable and hardworking shelf stocker - retail to join our Canadian Tire team in Duncan, BC. This position supports the overall store operations by ensuring merchandise is received, organized, stocked, and properly displayed so that shelves remain well-maintained and products are readily available for customers.
Job Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receive, unload, unpack, and verify merchandise delivered to the store.
• Record incoming products using barcode scanners and inventory systems and report discrepancies or damaged items.
• Replenish shelves and displays and ensure merchandise is properly arranged, priced, labeled, and secured.
• Retrieve merchandise from stock areas and assist customers with locating products and answering basic inquiries.
• Pick, package, label, and prepare customer and online orders for pickup, delivery, or shipment.
• Move merchandise using carts, dollies, hand trucks, or other approved store equipment as required.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe sales floor and stockroom areas.
• Assist with stock counts, inventory checks, inventory records, and monitoring product availability.
• Process and track customer orders and support in-store and e-commerce transactions when required.
• Follow store procedures for safe merchandise handling and workplace safety.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and stock levels, identify and report low-stock items, and assist with inventory checks to maintain accurate stock records.
• Use computer systems and scanning devices to track inventory and enter required product and inventory information into the company’s system.
• Ensure merchandise on the sales floor is properly labeled, faced, organized, and maintained, including keeping aisles and display areas clean and presentable.
Position Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is an asset.
• Previous work experience is an asset.
• Basic mathematical skills for pricing, transactions, and inventory-related tasks.
• Ability to use barcode scanners, labeling equipment, carts, dollies, and other store equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
